Anna Pope, a survivor of a Traumatic Brain Injury, is hosting a fundraiser to help others who are dealing with similar issues. A Garage Sale and Pancake Breakfast will be held at Gulf Breeze’s Community Center on Saturday, March 18. Proceeds of the event will be donated to the WalkAbout Brain Injury – Navarre 2017, which is being held at Navarre High School the following weekend.

Hosting the event is Anna Pope and “Anna’s Brain Walkers” team. Anna is a survivor of a traumatic brain injury she obtained as a passenger in an automobile accident in 2010.

When Anna was in Atlanta at Shepherd Center recovering from her injuries, 4 Shore Fit Bootcamp sponsored an event similar to this one and raised money to help Anna with her therapy expenses. Anna is ‘paying it forward’ now by helping raise money for the WalkAbout Brain Injury for 2017.

Community members of all ages can participate in the event. There is still a need for items to sale, volunteers to setup and/or work the event, and volunteers to help with the breakfast. The most important way to participate is to come to the Gulf Breeze Community Center, shop and eat some pancakes.

The WalkAbout Brain Injury – Navarre 2017 is being held at Navarre High School on March 25 so that survivors and their families from Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa Counties can join in on the fun. The event is being held to raise awareness of Brain Injury and to raise funds for programs for brain injury survivors.

To learn more about the WalkAbout, visit the Brain Injury Association of Florida’s website: www.biaf.org/walkabout and register for ‘Navarre’. While you are there, join Anna’s Team “Anna’s Brain Walkers” or create your own team. If you are not able to register online, join us on March 25 at 9:30 a.m. at the Navarre High School Track.

There will be a complimentary continental breakfast, face painting, several events, and several vendors setup to share information about services available to our communities. All participants and donations are welcome.
