5th Annual alumni picnic Saturday
Do you ever wish you could meet up with some of the friends you had in high school or see one of your former coaches, teachers or counselors from those days? If you attended Gulf Breeze High School, you are invited to attend the fifth annual Gulf Breeze High School Alumni Reunion on Saturday, March 18 at the north pavilion of the National Seashore on Highway 98.
Started by 1978 grad Tim Koontz as a way for some of the football players to reunite with coaches, especially in honor of a beloved coach who passed away, the event now is open all graduation classes. The cookout begins at 11 a.m. with a prayer service at 12 before the feast of fried mullet, boiled shrimp, burgers, dogs and boudin prepared by Billy Weston.
Steve Valletto says the event is a way to celebrate those who have gone before us and to connect with those who remain.
Attendees are is encouraged to bring their own side dishes, dessert and beverages as well as lawn chairs. A deejay will provide entertainment and the event will last until 6 p.m.
All former teachers and administrators are encouraged to attend the event to mingle with former students and see the profits of their educational efforts.
