Lady Dolphins lose district game at West Florida, 4-1

Gulf Breeze beats Catholic 15-0 in four innings

Jason Thompson/GulfBreeze News West Florida scored two in the ­second, then added a single tally in the third to beat Gulf Breeze 4-1 in ­Pensacola Friday.

A two-run double in the bottom of the second made it 2-0 before one of GBHS’ three errors allowed West ­Florida to take a 3-0 in the third.

Reagan Raley, who had two of GBHS’ four hits, doubled to lead off the fourth inning. After a pair of strikeouts, Amber Doyle singled to drive in Raley. Doyle was caught in a rundown to end the ­inning after a Madison Patrick double.

Another Gulf Breeze error (one of three in the game) allowed West­Florida to take on an insurance run in the fifth.

Amaya Torres had a hit and two ­stolen bases, while Sarah Shearman struck out three and allowed six hits in the loss.

Lady Dolphins 15, Catholic 0 (four innings): Madison Patrick had three hits, including a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth, as Gulf Breeze rapped out 19 hits and took advantage of five Catholic errors to win Thursday.

Gulf Breeze put up ‘crooked­numbers’ in every inning, sending at least eight batters to the plate every inning.

Raley, who went 2-for-4 and scored once, tripled with one out in the first. She scored when Kara Dorsey reached on an error. Patrick added an RBI­single, while Kamryn Hearn hit the first of her three doubles to drive in a run.

Delaney Batte, who went 2-for-3, added a two-run single in the first.

Patrick added an RBI single and Hearn an RBI double in the second to make it 7-0.

GBHS added four in both the third and fourth innings to end the game ­early on the 15-run ‘mercy rule.’

Erin Bailey, who went 2- for-4, added a bunt single in the third. Lexi Masino threw a three-hit shutout.

Lady Dolphins 8, Fort Walton 1: Torres and Riley Robinson both ­homered with two outs in the second on March 7 as GBHS avenged an extra ­inning loss to the Lady Vikings.

Batte went 3-for-3 in the win, while Shearman fanned a career-high 15.
