Lady Dolphins roll to two wins in Palm Coast, now 7-1

They found a little on Friday and none on Saturday, but their 23-1 win over Flagler allowed coach Carlee Costello to play her reserves the entire second half.

Clarke Haas’ second goal made it 12-0 late in the second half, bringing on the ‘running clock’ as well as the backups. Maddie Hall, Daly Ostrander, Sarah Davis and Jordan Fox all scored twice before Flagler scored their lone goal in the final 90 seconds.

“Defensively, Nina Staviski, Rachel Grimley and Cambrie Cook had strong showings,” Costellos said. “Katelyn Stahl was dynamic on the draw circle along with Vanessa Welch who had 8 ground balls!”

Avery Curington had five goals, while KateReagan Costello added three. Reilly Thompson and Shelby Dunne both scored once.

Keirstin Cramer and Hadleigh Richardson both scored second half goals.

Lady Dolphins 11, Mantanzas 4: Curington had four goals, while Gonzalez had 11 saves in a win Friday.

Curington, Costello and Thompson all scored goals to break a 1-1 tie early. Costello had two goals and four assists, while Thompson had two and one assist. Haas had three goals and two assists, while Dunne had an assist.

Top 20 teams meet Friday: The Lady Dolphins, ranked 17th in the most recent laxpower.com poll, hosts sixth-ranked Hegarty Friday night.
