After the National STEAM Visit, our STEAM Innovators decided to host a grab and go training for teachers who want to integrate more STEAMy activities into their daily routines.

“Mrs. Coady, Ms. Dieterich, and I started brain storming on simple ways to integrate technology into our reading and math blocks. From there, everything just came together,” according to Mrs. Jones. “We had almost 20 teachers come to the training! Everyone left with many new techniques, from See- Saw to Prodigy to Popplet, to try in their classroom.”

Each of these applications allow the students to self-monitor their own progress and which ultimately will lead to more student input into their learning. Throughout the interactive training, conversations centered around the students can-do attitude. “I love sharing examples of my students daily routines and how I have brought technology into my room. My 2nd graders love all the technology integration and they don’t even realize that they are learning while working,” reports Ms. Dieterich. Our students are surrounding by technology in their daily lives, we are looking for ways to make technology a seamless part of the school day.
