The afternoon began with two faculty teams, the Nerds and the Jocks, playing in the opening game. Then, a total of 37 student teams, with 10 students each, spent the rest of the afternoon battling in a tournament to determine the champions. This year’s winning team was the seventh grade L.I.G. team (“Life Is Good”), who beat the eighth grade Black Mambas in an epic battle.

One of the most memorable games of the day occurred when the Firecrackers played the Overcomers. Some of the students on the Overcomers have special needs that might make it difficult to compete in this type of tournament. However, with the help of some of the teachers and their fellow students, they were able to play in a fun game that showed what good sportsmanship and friendship are all about.

Students donated over $1,000 before spring break during various events such as Pajama Day and Pink Out Day. Then, for the kickball tournament, students have collected over $2,000, thus far. More donations are rolling in, as a few teams still compete to see who raises the most money. The winning team of the kickball tournament and the team that collects the most money will both get to go to Chick Fil A for lunch as a reward.
